    • It doesn’t have to be this complicated, and doing super large sets like that will build more endurance than strength. Focus on doing eccentric(negative) reps by jumping to the top of a pull-up and going down slowly. Do that enough and you’ll be able to do a pull-up.

    • I’ve got it easy with body weight exercises because I’m only 140 (I’m 6’3” so it’s stupid light) but I have a lot more tendon strength then muscle strength so grip and pull-ups are a cake walk but bench is tough for me.

    • I wasn’t able to do a pull up a few months ago, I was not out of shape but kind of getting there. But due to school sports I never did. Then my dad let me use his pull up bar/bench. After that I did about about 3 days of weights a week plus cardio and I was able to do a pull up in 2 months. (1)

    • or just do eccentrics of the pullup, not the chin-up. In a pullup your palms face you from the opposite side of your bar or rings. Eccentrics are focusing on the second part of the exercise, for pullups you jump and pull as much as you can on the up, but slowly descend with as much effort as you can
