This afternoon, units from the South Sacramento
Area got a call of a vehicle that had driven into a construction zone on northbound at the
Sutterville off-ramp. Officers arrived at the scene and located a Subaru Outback wedged between a temporary concrete barrier and a sound wall with the driver trapped inside. The Subaru was stuck in this location for 4 hours while officers and personnel from Caltrans and the Freeway Service
Patrol (FSP) built a temporary ramp out of sandbags to get a FSP tow truck into the construction zone to pull the Subaru and it's driver out safely. When asked how she ended up there, the driver stated that she got confused and thought the construction area was the off-ramp.
We are happy to report that neither the driver of
the Subaru or the panda headrests were injured
during this incident. "es
