June's hands rested on the dew covered railings. The settling of her weight against the metal posts sent a small squeak into the damp air. Her eyes followed the shine of headlights that brought her silhouette into view for only moments at a time. She slipped her hand into the pocket of her relaxed jeans, pulling out a beat up box of marlboro mellows. June tapped out the last cigarette and a half empty black lighter before discarding the box bellow her.
She sat the cigarette between the fine lines of her lips while lifting the lighter to the end and igniting it. June took a deep inhale and slow exhale as a mixture of the cold air and smoke poured out of her mouth. The sleepy eyed girl could feel the buzzing situation wash away the insomnia, bringing with it a feeling of comfort.
