    • Everyone does this, everyone has somewhat shaky hands. When you’re holding something, your eyes are able to synchronize with the small movements in your hand, making it appear stable. If someone else is holding it, your eyes have no way to synchronize with the movement.

    • I have low blood sugar so I shake like a Californian in Alaska. Sometimes I just use both hands while holding my phone and I’m still shaking. Then the next step is to find a solid surface but sometimes I’m still shaking. By that point I’m defeated and I give them the phone while I go find a donut.

    • It's not just parents. Anyone who actually wants to see what you are showing them will usually try to focus on it and holding the phone makes it easy. I've learned to hold my phone very steady and very close to my subjects face so no grabbing of my phone is required.
