was too young.
My parents had a dog named Charlie
who was absolutely terrified of the
vacuum cleaner. But after I was born,
any time my mother vacuumed, Charlie
would stand steadfast between me and
the vacuum cleaner. "Trembling in
every limb," my mother says, but
determined to protect baby-me from
the monster.

    • I was home alone, taking the opportunity to cry since I hate it when others see me crying. Eventually I just couldn’t sob anymore and went to sit on the couch. I was slowly starting to consider suicide. But then all my pets came and cuddled me, they didn’t leave me alone until I snapped out of it.

    • My mom had a dog named Cooper, he was only in my life for a couple of years. He wasn't trained to do tricks or retrieve, but one time she was in the bathtub and dropped her bottle of shampoo, and flippantly said "Cooper, could you get that?" And he walked over, picked it up, and handed it to her.

It was so bad that he wouldn't want to go outside for walks so everytime....
