    • I do HVAC, Most of the time I always go straight to a filter when “the unit isn’t cooling” I always try to explain to people, “put your hand over your mouth and breath as fast and hard as you can” cause that’s what this nasty filter is doing to that poor unit.

    • Hi, another fuckin HVAC guy here cept I be a foreman not a tech, that dirty bitch is a return air filter. When it gets clogged up like that, the conditioned air in the house can't get back up the return duct and through the air handler to circulate properly. Makes your unit work harder. So... yeah.

    • Actually filters get better at filtering as they fill with stuff. This is a common misconception. However they do need airflow to work as designed so you should still change it. But your air quality is actually the poorest right after you change it.
