    • So you know this is the Brooklyn Battery Tunnel. Its not right near WTC. These guys jumped out and ran about 1.5 - 2 miles in full gear. And then when they got there still had to, like many other fire fighters, climb 40, 60, 80 floors in that full gear. Mad respect.

His parents went years not having any proof that he died in the tower collapse, and they spent years looking through collections of photos taken on the day to try and find him. Eventually they found this, and it allowed him to be added to some memorials.

Went in that morning to grab his gear before a vacation with his wife and kids and heard the call and jumped on the truck to never come back. That was 3 days before his anniversary. My stepdad can't tell the story without crying because he was supposed to be working in the World Trade Center that day.
