• NIGHT VISION GOGGLES ARE GREEN BECAUSE
HUMAN EYE CAN DIFFERENTIATE MORE
SHADES OF GREEN THAN ANY OTHER COLOR,
ALLOWING FOR GREATER DIFFERENTIATION
OF OBJECTS IN THE PICTURE.

    • They're actually not green because of that. If you know how they work you know that the end lens is costed with phosphorus to turn electrons into photons. Which are green

    • Most night vision is switching to white rather than green. Easier on the eyes and tends to give less headaches and fatigue over several hours of use.

    • This is partially correct. The colors of what you see thru the goggles are turned into black and white, which travel through a phosphorous layer turning into green, which is easier for our eyes to differentiate.

    • That’s actually false, red is the color we differentiate best but it signals our brains as “DANGER” so manufacturers use the second closest thing which is green

    • Interesting but it begs the question what colors do we suck at differentiating the most?
