Sit down kids, and tot me tell you a tale, A talo about roasonable man driven to do unreasonable things.
Marvin Heemeyer was a man who owned muffler shop in
Granby, Colorado. The city councit ordained to approve the construction of a concrete factory in the lot across from
Marvin's shop. In the process, this blocked the only access.
f0ad to the mulfler shop. Marvin potitioned to stop the construction to no avail, He patitioned to construct anew
'access road, and even bought the heavy machinery to do himself, Denied,
Tho concrete factory went up in disregard to the ramiications on Marvin's business. To add insuit to injury, the factory construction disconnectod the muffier shop from the city sewago lines. An indifforent city government then chose to fine Marvin foe this.
His business and livetthood were in ruin, Rather than fie down and die, Marvin chose to fight back. Over the course of year and a half, Marvin secretly outtitted the bulldozer hho bought to save his businoss with 3-foot thick stee! and
Concrote armor, camera systems, and enclosed bulletproot glass.
(On June 2004 Marvin Haemeyor lowered the armored shell over top of himself, entombing himselt inside the
Kilidozer to make his lost stand,
He burst forth from the walis of his muffler shop and sstraight into the concrate factory that ruined his business,
Over the course of the next several hours, Marvin drove his
Kilidozer through 13 buidings owned by those officials that had wronged him, including the city counci building itself,
SWAT teams swarmed the dozer, but it proved immune to
'small arms fire and even explozives. Ancthot piece of heavy machinery was evon brought out to fight the Killdozer, but it
100 fell to the dozers righteous fury.
{In the end, Marvin's Killdozer became trapped in one of the
'buildings it was built to destroy. Marvin choso to toke his life, the only fe he took that day.
Today, we celebrate Killdozer Day and Marvin Heomeyer, the last great Ametican folk hero. A man driven to the brink who chose to fight back against an indifforont systom,
From notes left behind after his passing:
"1was always wiling to be reasonable until had to be unreasonable. Sometimes reasonable men must do unteasonable things."
HAPPY KILLOOZER DAY!
