    • I did some rearch actually because I was curious. If you had Somthing like a mononutrenic blade that could cut atoms in half. They would release energy, but not enough to cause an explosion because a nuclear explosion requires a chain reaction, which depends a lot of atoms to be fissile.

When you split a heavier atom like uranium, you get a lot of energy because the resulting daughter nuclei are much more stable than its parent. The more stable the daughters are relative to the parent, the more energy released.
