    • It's called the Lonestar tic and it only makes you allergic to Red Meat and not all of them have it. I have been bit by Lonestars countless times and never gotten it. Plus, severity of allergies range from Belly Ache to possible death. It can be very minor.

    • These type of ticks are called lone Star ticks or "Deer ticks" and they are real but they have been around forever. Best thing to do is after going outside in a tall grass or wooded area be sure to check yourself for ticks.

    • It’s hard to get though, the tick has to bite a red meat animal first, then it has to bite you. Some sort of enzyme is put into the body and your body fights it. When you go to eat red meat, your body recognizes that enzyme as bad, hence the allergic reaction
