3. Apply paint, 2 coats, and allow to dry. I assume you know how to do that. My friend taught me these when we were doing the interior of his '41 Chevy, which had 70+ years of rust. You have a sweet truck. I hope this will help you.
1. Go over the rust with a wire wheel or sandpaper until it's smooth, but do not go down to bare metal. Leave a smooth layer of brown. It will help protect the metal underneath from further oxidation. Wipe off the dust with a cloth. It's called "scuff & buff."
