• Alright so years ago I was
diagnosed with
depression. I've never taken meds nor
have I gone to
therapy for it. I'm just letting it play out and for
years I've pretty much just lived in a state of constant
negativity and pessimism. But for the last couple
weeks I haven't felt depressed, I haven't felt much of
anything. It's been more
like watching a
movie in the
first person. You don't feel any personal connection
with the main character and you're just bored 99% of
the time watching as shit plays out and a constant
feeling of being lightheaded. Does anyone know
actually what this shit means or
is everything fine?
I'm genuinely confused.

    • depersonalization/dissassociation. basically as a way of coping with the mental pain of day to day life, your brain stops emotionally processing whats happening around it

    • This is called depersonalization and it is a symptom of depression (and other personality disorders). You aren't better, it's just a different type of symptom than what you're used to

    • You’re just spacing it out. It’s actually getting worse if you feel nothing, try to find something that interests you in any way
